Nature, Distilled

Today, we’re celebrating Spring at 4GGL with girls around the world!

This woman in our video is sharing her very unique and skillful talent – distilling nature into beautiful fragrances. The seed for her idea began when she was in the forest …

“I was breathing in the fragrance of the forest. I felt like I had very deep roots. And I felt myself grow tall, and I had strong limbs that went up to the sky. I had this experience of being very connected with earth, but also reaching high up into the heavens and being in this collective of nature – being One with nature…”

What seeds are you planting in your life this Spring?

Planting seeds….

The spring equinox is symbolic of rebirth, renewal, and growth. Historically, in ancient Italy, it was traditional for women to plant seeds in the gardens of Adonis on this day. The custom persists in Sicily, where women plant seeds of grains – lentils, fennel, lettuce or flowers – in baskets and pots. When they sprout, the stalks are tied with red ribbons and the flowers are placed on graves on Good Friday, symbolising the triumph of life over death.

“The students I met at the White House are part of the Mars Generation and it was fantastic to talk to them and the First Lady about the work NASA is doing to make sure that the astronauts who land on Mars in the 2030s are able to grow fresh, nutritious food.” NASA Deputy Administrator Dava Newman

“I feel that we’re at a place where humans need to connect
more to nature, so we can all evolve as One with the earth.”
