“The FEAR of not-being-good-enough is one of the deepest,
most fundamental FEARS every person on the planet has …”

– MARIE FORLEO

Here are some tips to beating down the VOICE OF RESISTANCE.

1. Put all your attention on the person you are helping or serving.  Do the work.  Focus outward. If you’re focused on creating results and helping improve the world, there’s no room left to wonder if you’re good enough!

3. Don’t let the simplicity of this advice fool you. Your full presence is the greatest gift you can give. It doesn’t cost you anything, you can access it at any time, and it produces miracles beyond belief.

4. Training yourself to come back to the moment and re-engage in the task at hand is the secret to breaking the self-doubt pattern once and for all.

“You have a mind, but you are not your mind. You’re
also NOT the thoughts you think in your mind.” – Marie Forleo

WHY EMBRACING OUR MISTAKES CAN HELP US BUILD UP OUR SELF-CONFIDENCE:

In this short talk, Caroline McGraw shares an idea about overcoming perfectionism. She shares a great story about a lesson her six-year-old perfectionist self learned, and how getting a facebook message made her panic and feel she’d “done something wrong,” when it was really someone who wanted to talk with her about speaking and sharing her message with others! She says, “Perfectionists like me believe that if we just try hard enough, we can avoid all these situations that make us feel so vulnerable.” In fact, she smiles as she quotes the wonderfully-funny author Anne Lamott, “Perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping stone just right, then you won’t have to die.”  Hello?!?  Truth Is:

Our mistakes actually help us to see that we are stronger than we know because they reveal our true selves that endure when our false selves die.
