“I Am a Tool for Change”

A powerful spoken word poem from a young boxer named Faith.

Training as a team to face individual challenges alone, Boxgirls learn skills in the ring that bring them further in their schooling, family and career. Boxgirls International links innovative projects in Germany, Kenya and South Africa, using boxing as a catalyst for social change for women and girls.

Boxgirls Nairobi organizes boxing and self-defense training for 800 adolescent girls and young women from disadvantaged backgrounds in the slums of Nairobi.  Their mission is to: Create a world where women and girls lead dignified lives in secure communities, are valued as equal members of society, and have control over their sexuality and economic development.

BONUS:  Boxgirls is in the frontline of creating education platforms for girls and young women from the marginalized communities.  Learn more about how Boxgirls Kenya has been providing books to girls in their homes through their mobile library
